Argus SATRAKS

DUAL MODE SATELLITE/GSM VEHICLE TRACKING

Argus Tracking brings you the SATRAKS Dual Mode GPS Tracking Unit. This device has the ability to communicate over the Iridium satellite network when outside of Vodafone GSM reception areas.

All real-time GPS solutions rely on cellular or radio networks as a path to send back location data logged by their vehicles, the challenge for companies that work in area’s far from the coverage of these networks is to find “Smart” solutions that are able to switch from a conventional land based communication network, to a satellite network such as Iridium as a path way for their GPS data.

The Argus SATRAKS solution provides just that, along with Long Range Wireless Panic button options for increased staff safety and visibility.

The SATRAK solution provides a flexible communication platform for logged vehicle GPS location and Event data that is been sent back to its “Tracking Centre” application. SATRAKS uses both the Vodafone GSM network and the Iridium Satellite communication network. The SATRAKS unit based on a customised configuration will look for the best network option to send back GPS data, sending back vehicle location and event information when using the Iridium network and sending all logged data back to the “Argus Tracking Centre” when in GSM coverage. The on board memory resident in the SATRAK Dual Mode Unit, equates to approximately 3000 kms of travel.

SATRAKS also can be set with working parameters to match the customers working conditions, such as -

  • Satellite On Time – After GSM coverage lost
  • Satellite Location Polling Time
  • Satellite Modem Off Setting ( Based on Ignition Off )
  • Satellite Send of vehicle based Events ( Engaging PTO such as brooms, gritters etc )
  • Satellite Send of Panic Button Events

SATRAKS giving “Visibility” to your vehicles and staff no matter where you do business.
